General Purpose Tag
EZT-GP-RWT tags are bidirectional in infrared and unidirectional [transmit only] in RF.

Several operating modes can be invoked through the infrared communication link: a tag can be placed in a beacon mode wherein the tags' unique ID or tag ID and additional information can be transmitted via the 433.92 MHz RF link periodically. This mode can be silenced for field or aircraft transit.

The tags' operating parameters, such as data fields, response times, etc. can also be controlled via the infrared communication link.

Additionally, the tags can be commanded to transmit ID or other data directly from an infrared command sent to them from a PDA or an Active RFID Systems, Inc. trigger device. This trigger will function in all environments including direct impinging sunlight.

The tag triggering action can be accomplished from over 20 meters of range or can operate from existing mobile computers or PDA-type devices at reduced infrared range. These tags have a fully-enabled search and locate mode of operation.
